First-in-Region Brain Aneurysm Coiling

In 2013, as reported by the Khaleej Times, Dr. Haider-Shah successfully performed a brain aneurysm coiling surgery on a 75-year-old Emirati patient at Mafraq Hospital using a trans-carotid approach — a technique commonly used in Europe and North America but never before attempted in the GCC.

During the same procedure, he was the first in the region to use an advanced StarClose device for carotid artery closure after neuro-interventional surgery.
